FIFA bans Former FIFA president, Sepp Blatter and UEFA president, Michel Platini.



On Monday, 21st December 2015, a FIFA court banned former FIFA president of 17 years, Sepp Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini for 8 years after finding them guilty of abusing the power of their positions over a payment supposedly made to the suspended head of European football.

The payment was said to be over 2 million US Dollars. Sepp and Michel were immediately banned from every football activity and they were required to pay a fine of 50,000 and 80,000 Swiss francs respectively.

Statements released by the court revealed 'abusive execution' of their powers. The court said, concerning Michel Platini that he 'failed to act with complete credibility and integrity, showing unawareness of the importance of his duties.'
